it’s a need to feel the suns golden fingers
teasing figure eights along my back,
& the wind on my cheeks.

i must have been
a bird in some past life,
a swallow or a hummingbird.
because, i swear on some nights
i can feel the growing pains of an atlas
ready to burst through my skin like wings.

i just want to be

                        free.
Secret:

"I feel guilty that I can’t wait to leave my family and move away."

I love the atlas section. Such a beautiful yet odd image.

I love how you compare an atlas to wings--that is genius for the image you are creating.

You really like that font, don't you? lol.

I want to be free sometimes too; but I was so happy when I came back home yesterday. I guess that sort of feeling just...comes and goes. I love this one so much, though.

Yes--I do. :D

I was actually talking to someone about this the other day.
The wanting to leave so bad you can taste the ocean on your lips,
but after you've swallowed a bit to much salt,
you run home to the comfort of your own bed.

Funny how life works that way.
