She
devoured
my heart
in one slow,
satisfying gulp.

I heard it plunge
into the gaping
emptiness of her.

She
drank the sun
from my fingertips,
licked me from her lips,
& said

"Rose petals
look better dead, plucked
from your November pores."

I cringed.

"They go down smoothest
with Writers Tears."

I think about this poem a lot. It really left an impression on me. I just love the imagery and the description and the words used. I'm not even sure how to explain it but i just really adore this poem.

Wow, that's fantastic. I love the characters just from this little blurb. Do you want to have an apostrophe in "writers" at the end? It's a stylistic thing, just pointing it out in case you wanted one there. :D

The whiskey brand name doesn't have and apostrophe S, that was why I didn't add one. :)

Truly.... Truly beautiful... Thank you SO much for putting this up. Keep putting this stuff up. You're VERY talented, and I know you could become known one day. But writing isn't about fame or money. It's about the writing itself, the thrill of writing, and the expression of your deepest thoughts and emotions through simple words. Simple, but complicated. Silent, but loud.

Skin, November year of birth, amber birthstone. Gold skin. Whiskey is a gold color. C: hope that helps you.

Writers Tears is an excellent name for a brand of whiskey.
Also this poem catches on the rough edges of my heart. I like it.

I'd like to try it some time, just because. But I think it's only made in Ireland and I would have to order it online.

I'm so dumb, I'd be happy with just the empty bottle. And then I would refill it with whiskey and keep it on my desk forever, as a warning to my brain cells.

You are...intimidating, inspirational, overwhelming, passionate, without possibly realizing how much you touch, personally and intimately the people who read and respond to your works..

This is very beautiful. I wish I could write  a poem on my alcoholism and depression, but I never could describe it. This was most certainly close. I kind of feel ashamed now, considering I can't even write my own feelings on paper sometimes and you did a whole series about other people's secrets. Ah well.
